    Growing up, I'd stay up until 3 or 4am on IRC, chatting with people from Europe, South America, Australia/NZ. We built websites, setup servers, shared knowledge, hosted radio shows together. No rails with technology. Fun times. That time is entirely why I'm able to support myself now. Sadly lost touch with most of them.  I wonder how they're all doing now.     Love that new shiny email address smell. Especially one that isn't owned by Google (import almost finished) and it's shorter to boot!

    If data is the “new oil”, that means you have to deal with oil spills (data leaks) ruining the environment (Internet). No thanks.

    Went for a drive today (at Leo’s insistence) down to Chigasaki-Shi. Felt a little bad with Yokohama plates in Shonan plate territory.

    Didn’t get out of the car, but man it’s so green and nice out there. Saw some huge koinobori too.

    Did a presentation at work today about editing PDFs with Python. Mixing and matching libraries is fast, but you’ll run into a bunch of inefficiencies that result in slow processing and huge files. I should write a book. For serious.
